Official Discussion - Don't Worry Darling [SPOILERS]

I thought the film was good. I think that Wilde was seemingly not able to tease the twist/point properly and thus the film loses a LOT of steam in the second act, which in turn sets up a third act which operates at breakneck speed. Good cast, good performances but not necessarily utilized all that well imo. Like why even bother putting Nick Kroll in there, who was doing a very good job, if you’re not really gonna use him. Even Gemma was underused I felt.

Harry was good, but in the same vein, maybe not experienced enough to really pull the whole thing together. Pugh was great and I was a bit surprised but pleased at how much of her character works through feeling as opposed to straight detail. It actually threw me off a bit at first till I realized what they were going for.

This thread also exposes one of my bigger pet peeves on this site, lol. Not saying none of them are, but just because the film leaves you with questions, doesn’t inherently mean those questions are flaws. Some are executed better than others but I’m not mad at not getting thorough explanations for a lot of the stuff, especially when there’s plenty to give you a way to reason out an explanation that works for you.
