“This past summer was an absolute nightmare – my mom passed away, then they stripped me and I was being accused of being a steroid cheat. I lost my title, lost all my endorsements and my dog died. It was terrible,” Jones said.

I get that Tyson Fury is charismatic and all but besides that why is the fan's treatment of him so starkly different from Jon Jones? Fury got popped for steroids and abused recreational drugs, too. Everybody was in his corner for his comeback but they revile Jones for being in a similar spot. They roll their eyes when he says he had to overcome personal challenges and went into trauma therapy but they'll lap everything up that Tyson Fury says about being addicted to alcohol and drugs as if that isn't also self-inflicted like much of Jones' recent difficulties. Would people actually like Jones rather than hate him with passion if had some of Fury's charm?
