Oh boy, this might get confusing, I am sorry in advance.

So after five years of Canon I am finally selling my canon 6D + lenses to switch to another system, mirrorless. I got the feeling that I got a much better image quality at the cost of overall handling about 6 months after I made the mistake of buying a used body, which I really didn't like. My budget after selling will be about 1400EUR//1600USD, so I have some options. I MAY (but rather not) be able to push for 1600EUR. But eh.

I am looking for something slick, lightweight, fast. Mainly for portraits/street, but also the possibility of doing landscape.

After researching for some time I have laid my eyes primarily on the fujifilm xt 20 or the sony a7 II. The xt 2 sadly is quite out of my range considering the Fuji lens prices.

I already asked for help in their respective subreddits and got some amazing advice but I am still torn. To be honest, it made it even worse I'm afraid. I read too many comments and articles by people swooning over the xt 20 and watched too many videos by people going hard for the a7II. Every review I read is making it worse.

Option 1:

Fujifilm xt-20, which would give me a good buffer for some decent glass. I was thinking about the 23mm f/1.4, which people told me is amazing. Bodies are sold used at about 650EUR, the lens is possible to be snatched for about the same price, also used. One of the bigger sellers here in germany has a nice deal right now where you get 100EUR off by buying something by Fuji. The kit would be at 900EUR. With a second telezoom 1100EUR. Are the kit lenses by Fuji any good?

So a supposedly amazing lens and a very lightweight, capable body, but used. Or the body with some lenses I don't know how they perform, additionally, I don't like zoom lenses all that much.

But after I went FF about a year ago, I am kinda anxious to go back to a crop sensor. Also the lens market is kinda limited.

Option 2:

Sony A7II body, but it costs about 400EUR more wich would limit my lens budget to about 300-400EUR. There IS the possibility to buy it new from the story with a 28-70mm kit lens, though for about 1400EUR. Worth it?

So a very capable body with an uncertain lens performance. Is the kit lens any good? Are there good alternatives?

This one would be the option I could build upon the best I think, lenswise.

Option 3?

Sony A7 body, it is kinda inbetween so I would have some budget for a lens but I'm really unsure about this one. Is it still worth it?

As a university student with limited income I really don't want to make a mistake here. It literally keeps me up at night haha. I want to get the best I can get for my money.

Which would be the smartest choice? Are there better alternatives?

My most used lens on my 6D was a 35mm f/2 legacy lens which is not being sold anymore but still is way sharper than any of the kit lenses I owned in the past, so I kinda want to stay in that range. If I were to buy a used A7II body, are there good lenses in that range for ~400EUR? Is it worth it?

I am not a professional by any means but I take my hobby very seriously in hopes of someday incorporating it into my job/going pro.

The best thing would be trying to get my hands on these by renting and testing them, but my local camera shop doesn't rent at all :/

Thanks!
