I was wondering if anyone has experience with either the manfrotto essential backpack or Lowepro hatchback15L. I’m going on a trip soon and wanted to get a lightweight bag to carry my camera in.

Last time I went with a Lowepro DSLR Video Fastpacl 250AW, and that was such a heavy backpack (and big too).

I like the design of the manfrotto but at the same time I’d like to have a rain cover like with the lowepro. Although I guess I could always find a rain cover for the hatchback.

In terms of materials the Lowepro is made of a ripstock nylon which would be handy to have while the manfrotto is made of just nylon. Not sure how much of a difference this would make. The manfrotto is a little bit lighter as well. Both seem to be able to convert into day packs with removable inserts.

It’d be appreciated if anyone could let me know if they’ve had experiences with either, or if you could recommend a similar pack that is both lightweight and affordable (preferably under $100)
