I have always believed photography to be such a profound practice. The art of trapping an exact moment of time within a frame is a powerful feeling.

I have borrowed many cameras from friends and teachers, but I have never been able to afford my own. (Not to overshare or seek attention, but as immigrants my family prioritizes their funds into more traditional careers and would never allow me to invest in a high end camera).

My question is, what kind of camera (DSLR/ Mirroess) can I use that will allow me to control every aspect of my “shot” that with enough practice can give me shots as good as or nearly as good as a professional camera. I would obviously buy used/ refurbished, but are there any off-brand cameras that can rival some of the top competitors? Any advice is appreciated.
