I am going on a 2-week dream trip to Patagonia in southern Chile next month. I will be spending 4-5 days hiking in Torres del Paine park. Obviously, I want to make sure I capture everything the best I can when I am there!

I plan to take photos AND do a video montage (which I've done on other trips).

I have some questions about gear I should take or buy:

Camera: Canon 60D. I am considering making the leap to FF. Not just because of this trip - I have been thinking about it for some time and I think I might as well do it before my trip? My assumption is I'd want to be able to go wider for the type of landscape I'll be shooting in Patagonia. My biggest gripe on the 60D is it doesn't let me go too wide and it gets pretty noisy at high ISO.

Current lenses I own (would like to take no more than 3!) - Canon 17-40mm f/4L - Canon 50mm f/1.8 - Sigma 30mm f/1.4 - Canon 75-300mm f/4-5.6 (I don't love this lens and don't get good results with it often)

Tripod: Gorilla Pod

Filters: I have a polarizing and ND filter for my 17-40mm lens. Not sure they are good enough to make a difference.

Questions (sorry so many!) - Any lenses missing that would be great for this kind of trip? I hike/camp a lot so I'd get a lot of use for anything that would be best for landscapes. I'd be willing to invest in a new lens for this trip. 85mm? 100mm? 10-20mm? - Is a Gorilla Pod good enough? I plan to do some night photography if conditions are right. I'm fairly inexperienced with night photography, but I started practicing this weekend and will do so the next two weekends. - Should I just go ahead and upgrade to a FF now (been thinking of a used 5D Mark II)? - Lastly - what is the best way to carry gear with a full backpack on my back? I tried this weekend on an overnight backpacking trip and found it really inconvenient to store the camera in my pack (I found I rarely wanted to stop, take off my pack, and get out my camera). Can anyone recommend an easier system? Carrying my camera around my neck feels uncomfortable to me. - Any other recommendations from people who have photographed some amazing landscapes?

THANK YOU! I love this subreddit and continue to learn neat stuff daily. I hope I can pay it forward for new photographers one day.
