[Official] UFC Fight Night 205 - Alvarez vs. McGregor - Day After Discussion

The thing with being the 'GOAT' is, I don't think Conor gives a shit about the metric most people here would use to determine the 'GOAT'. He has shown time and time again that he plays by his own rules and has plans of his own. When talking about the GOAT, people will look at things like number of title defenses, win streaks, dominance over a division etc. Is Conor a GOAT by that measure? Of course not. Is he talented enough to be? Maybe. But I doubt he has any interest in pursuing that - he's playing his own game.

He won the FW belt and looked straight to LW. He's won the LW belt and is now looking to be part owner of the UFC before he fights again. He's always looking to bigger things, and always talking about breaking records. So no, Conor will probably never be comparable to guys like Silva and GSP, but partly because he has no interest in being so. Conor is already the GOAT by his own metrics - he's easily the most influential, successful, profitable and valuable fighter MMA has ever seen, which I think is what matters to him.
