Often finding myself tailed by LEO at night...can anyone explain?

I absolutely understand that; ultimately I just have my side, and can only provide my interpretation of what happened.

Luckily there has only been 3 noticable times in the past year, so it's not a very often occurance. It's just enough that I'm wondering what it is I'm doing to have been tailed this long three times in a year. With it happening again tonight, it made me wonder if this was normal, which is why I posted.

I have considered the fact that the car may have been going over bumps in the road, but I'm relatively certain that it was not the case. I've seen cars in my rear view mirror have that weird shift in brightness after going over speed bumps in parking lots, and there was a very large difference between that and what happened to me earlier this year. I've had drivers flash their high beams on me because they are impatient (one instance was me driving the speed limit; they flashed them, then passed), and the brightness I saw was similar to that scenario, rather than someone driving over a bump. The only time I was scared was that first scenario; the remote area coupled with how strange that entire scenario played out fed into that. The last two times I've been more confused/nervous as to why I was followed so closely for long periods of time. Ultimately, it makes me nervous any time a car gets too close to me at night, since I can't see who it is behind me in the darkness. Impatient driver, or police officer trying to run my plate?

Luckily I don't think I'm always being tailed; especially in my area now, it's a smaller town, and I take routes near the police station and side roads that feed into the main roads within town. I know that they're taking those routes to do their patrols. Most of the time, the officer keeps their distance and moves on to wherever they're going.

I appreciate your response; thanks!
