Oh HI Reddit. Game Designer Jon Gilmour here. AMA!

Well, we will probably do a big official announcement sometime in the next week or so. We will be publishing games that tell stories (not necessariliy story telling games) and that evoke feelings in players. As well as games that are fun and bring people together.

I know that sounds corny, but we feel there is a niche of games that bring people together and make friends. Cards Against Humanity does this in an interesting way (and I'm not saying they will be party games). But you play CAH with a new group of people, and at the end of the game, you know more about each other, and you have some new jokes that you share with them. Dead of Winter does it as well, as you have stories at the end of a game that you share later on.

We are not going to focus on my designs, or Jeremiah's necessarily. I will still be designing games and pitching them to other companies, but if we design a game that we feel is a good fit for our brand, we'll obviously put it out. I don't want it to feel like it's a vanity publishing company (which is not a bad thing in any way).

We also want to focus on helping new designers who have games that many not fit with many other companies out.

We have two games lined up that we are working diligently to get out possibly this year. Doug Doug Goose Caboose, which is a super small and fun 3-5 minute game from J.R. Honeycut of the DFWNerdNighters. The other game is News@11 a recursive storytelling game that I designed with 5 other local designers. It plays in about half an hour, and the players play members of a news team in place that is going weird.

We are hoping to have DDGC ready for a Kickstarter launch sometime in the next couple months, mostly to prove that we can deliver a good project on time. We are likely self funding News@11 for a potential release late this year. It's a very aggressive timeline, but we have a lot of faith in both of the games, as they have been testing awesomely.
