Oh, I'm sorry, were you in a hurry? Shouldn't have been a dick about it then.

In addition to what the other person was saying, let's say I work at a convenience store that sells bottled sodas. Customer pisses me off, screaming and insulting me, and telling me how thirsty they are. They want to be rung up as fast as possible. In that moment, because their believed incredible thirst they're not behaving as a rational person would. Still, they've pissed me off so I take some petty revenge. I decide to take my sweet time with the sale, delaying them every second I can from that relief of thirst. They've paid, they've waited, I've gotten my revenge. I'm ready to hand it over, but instead I decide "what the hell, I'm still pissed" and I shake up the bottle behind the counter. Now, they've told me they're thirsty, I know haven't been behaving rationally and I know there is a better than likely chance that as soon as I hand it to them they're going to open it without another thought. I can see clearly that there's other customers behind this thirsty customer(TC) and within the splash zone. TC is close enough to me that soda may get on me as well, but in the moment of shaking up the soda I was solely thinking about my own gratification on how it would affect TC. Now TC, upon receiving the bottle, may have come to their senses, realized their overreaction, figured they're not actually that thirsty, and not open the bottle right away, thus allowing it to settle. They may however, open it right up spraying myself or they may turn around and end up spraying the innocent customers behind them. Like this example, the problem with road rage is you're shaking the bottle without giving much thought on the outcome. You have no idea what this person is going/willing to do or when they'll do it. You already know they're raging, you know they're not driving safe, so your thought is to mess with them further? They can flash or pull a gun, they can follow you home, they can find a way around you and/or drive dangerously to get around you. They can cause an accident trying to get around/away from you or cause one by purposely hitting your car. Hitting your car could have a domino effect sending you into others. They can speed off down the road and have an accident that you don't even witness. Don't play stupid games when you're driving and don't willfully antagonize a road raging driver; there's no benefit other than making yourself feel better about yourself. At least in my example everyone just ends up a little sticky, which considering all things, isn't that bad of an outcome. :) all the best.
