Ohio State announces Nick Bosa intends to withdraw from school and prepare for NFL

Makes me wonder a little about the criteria for being a captain. Had he been a model teammate and a leader in prior years and was good captain material, or was he a captain because he was one of the most high-profile players on the team?

If he was just a captain because he was really good, or because he'll be a high draft pick, or because his name's Bosa, then it's kind of a meaningless title and I don't think it should be held against him. If he was previously captain material and is just up and leaving because his draft stock is high enough, I agree that it's pretty lame. I mean, hell, couldn't he stick around and mentor younger players and cheer on the team if he were really captain material, instead of withdrawing from school altogether?
