Oil company records from 1960s reveal patents to reduce CO2 emissions in cars: ExxonMobil and others pursued research into technologies, yet blocked government efforts to fight climate change for more than 50 years, findings show

People in the military in the oil field? Wow, that's amazing. It's like people need jobs after they get out of the military. You might have stumbled on to something there. /s

You can have as much respect as you want for your profession. I think you're full of shit. Oil workers and military don't get the same respect in my book, and you're kind of a jerk for making that equivalent. Getting shot at, and blown up by IEDs, are not the same as working the oil industry. There are tons of jobs in remote oil areas that are very far removed from danger. It's not the same thing, not the same league, ain't even the same sport.

You're allowed to be as delusional as you like, but don't expect anyone else to buy into your bullshit. I'm not.

I have nothing against oil workers, I know quite a few. They wouldn't say what they do is worthy of equal respect as military. I think you're just crazy.

You can't equate military, and serving your country to a voluntary position in the oil field. You might think you've stumbled on to some amazing insight, and tell me "I'm not helping myself," but you sound like a crazy person. No one is buying your bullshit. It's simply not true. If anything your making yourself, and your entitled to praise that isn't deserved. You said military and oil workers aren't the same, but should get the same respect. Fuck that. Lots of people have tough jobs.

You don't get to make a scale because you're skewed in your own direction. I don't respect oil workers, and military the same. Why should anyone? Because some delusional guy whines about it being difficult? No thanks. I've met my bullshit quota for the week, so thanks for that.
