Ok can we get a straight answer as to the status?

Please browse the stories at the top of the page in the 'HOT' portion of the subreddit. All of these questions are answered in the top stories of the day.

And many people are just looking for answers to questions that cannot be answered yet.

There has been a TEMPORARY stay of the scheduling. Could be as short as 24 hours.

That should answer your question as to why vendors are shutting down. If you had 200 lbs of a substance that was going to be federally illegal within 24 hours at any moment's notice, would you want to be suspected of selling a federally banned substance in the same scheduling class as heroin?

Would you?

So you understand why vendors may not be smart to continue selling. When that ban goes through, if you sell even a small bag, you're committing a serious felony that would almost definitely incur jail time and a huge legal expense to defend yourself.

So again…would you be willing to sell something that will be placed in the same class as heroin? Would you be willing to ship it knowing that it could be illegal by the time it arrives?

I'm not trying to be a smart ass…it's just that this stuff has been discussed ad nauseam on the top stories of the front page and it should be crystal clear to everyone at this point why selling kratom is a giant legal risk that could very well land someone in jail.
