[OK] What is the best way to apologize for being late?

As stated in the OP, I received one "point" for an illness callout. I returned the next day. I missed the next two days after that, resulting in three points. Doctor's notes do not excuse occurences, they only prevent multiple from accruing if the days missed are consecutive. I discussed this with my management and they are completely in the right on granting me three separate occurences because I reported to work in the middle of them.

It's three strikes and you're out, but the occurences "expire" from your record after 6 months. If I am late or miss one more time it will be my fourth strike. I do not have excessive tardies - I just missed three days.
