Okay, so after some research I've found out that BC (and perhaps current gen) games only save to cloud. However they also save to the local storage before going to cloud, yeah? I ask because I often to long periods of time without internet. So for example will my local saves always be there forever?

I don't know why it's weird. I just like privacy no matter what it is. I mean, it probably doesn't matter if someone looks into your home through the blinds, because what are they gonna see? Probably nothing, so it doesn't matter. But do you want people looking into your home? No. You want privacy I'd imagine. (And yeah, I get that the internet is constantly monitored, and privacy is hard to have on the internet. But I try to keep as private as possible. I use a fake name, and have the best VPN I can afford. And like I already said a bunch, it doesn't matter. I'm a nobody, so using my real name wouldn't matter. I don't really do anything illegal online (except piracy every once in a while. Movies, music, and whatnot.) so a VPN isn't necessary. It's just the principal of what's mine should be mine, and I should be the only one who see's it. Even something as stupid, and small as a game save. And I don't wish the feature didn't exist. I wish there was a way I wasn't forced to use it.
