Is it okay to report someone for disconnecting?

People who use reporting as a supplement to their toxicity don't really matter. Those reports don't mean anything unless they're based on actual in game toxicity.

People who are in abusive relationship with report button are the problem, they matter cause there are so many of them, they are vocal, and depriciate quality of so many games. My main point isn't about me or other people getting falsely banned, it's about those who seek reasons to report and can't shut up about it. 90% or 85%, doesn't change the fact that they are alot more frequent than DC's or AFK's.

doesn't mean the system in general doesn't work

System obviously doesn't work because "toxicity" is still there in form of begging to report. That doesn't have place in in-game communications. Is also quite distasteful towards the addressers, cause it implies those being unable to draw up a decision on their own.

Maybe tribunal has made people swear less in games, but it certainly didn't improve quality of ranked games by a whit.

Getting reported for an isolated incident will NOT get you punished by the system. Getting reported repeatedly for DCing will get you punished

Where do you get this information from? My assumption would be that these reports don't even go anywhere (and DC report button isn't more than a placebo), since there is automated system in place. Do you really think that it's required to be reported many times for DC'ing before one would get noticed?

If you don't want to report DCs then that's your prerogative, but that doesn't mean that no one should.

Sure, I just know that reporting doesn't solve main issue. It might be justifiable to report people who DC if you so know that Riot will distinguish "rare occasions" from "cases of presistent violations". I don't know whether that's true, I don't understand why Riot would need my reports to "make sure" that said player has, in fact, DC'd, and hence I want to exclude possibility of legit people being punished for my casual act of reporting.

This is pretty typical of people who get banned. You don't think there is a problem and you assume that one or two games where you were unfairly reported got you banned. Do you know what it takes to get banned for a week? First you need to get warned, then you need to get a day long ban, then you get the week long ban. Unless you were extremely toxic in order to jump immediately to a week then you should've followed that same path. Regardless, it absolutely was not ONE game where you played Jax out of meta. That's not how it works at all.

/u/RiotLyte, please relog onto main account.

I don't assume that there weren't other reports. There probably were, yet they didn't have to be legit, just as well as tribunal punishments. When tribunal was up and running, there were constantly threads on front page of r/lol asking "how the fuck does this case get punished?" with totally, 200% "clear" chat logs, average normal scores and item builds. People can report you cause they don't like you. I was playing on EUNE back than, so I could be easily reported for not speaking polish, and likely often was.

I'd assume that Riot realized their fuckup (regardless of how many bullshit PR statements they've made regarding tribunal) and eventually are switching to automated system. This is, by the way, the reason why punishments are now distributed almost instantly.

Unless you're extremely high MMR and playing against the same 9 people every single game and one of them happens to have a grudge with you, there's no way you're getting banned or likely even warned unless you give an actual reason for it.

Once again, what are your sources and data you are using? I've seen enough false punishments and was falsely punished myself to conclude that tribunal was full of shit.

You do still get warned for "negative behaviour" after stomping a bunch of scrubs in normal game, just cause they didn't enjoy it. That's an actual reason why, yet it doesn't justify a ban. Imagine, some people get lots of reports for bullshit reasons.
