Oklahoma Releases Nearly 500 Inmates in Push to End Mass Incarceration

When I first moved here 10 years ago a roach could land you a felony with 2 - 5 years of incarceration. If you didn't take a plea deal and take the 5 year probation and were convicted of a small possession you not only lost your right to vote but to have firearms. If you violated your probation well you screwed up big time. My point being is that I have seen several people that were my age make bad decisions that led them to be incarcerated or left with a bad start owing fines to the state, having a hard time getting there drivers license, finding a job that would hire for previous conviction, etc. It was a shitty system and a system that you could never really recover from financially. I am glad that we are making these advances in our legal system, and I see comments like the one above your's that still thinks that we should throw away the key to our fellow citizens for non violent crimes. Its just perspective I think some people have never had to live without a hot meal or a silver spoon.
