Olaf Scholz won’t dump China. Will Europe ever learn?

You think the U.S. has it bad? They are quickly moving industry back home and are making moves to decrease their reliance on China. What are we doing? Oh wait, we're trying to give away ports to China.

We are not the USA. First of all, we don't have natural resources. We're also not as competitive (China is actually more competitive than us in a lot of fields, nevermind the USA). We're not as innovative. Etc

Even so I would hold on the "moving industry back home" the USA is doing, with the exception of (very) high-end stuff. A lot of things might not be viable.

Ironically, the best way for us to develop and remain competitive was to, somehow, include Russia in the European project (which neither the USA or China wanted, of course. Neither did Russia, it seems). Which is gone now.

Moving forward things will get worse, not better, for the foreseeable future
