It’s incredibly common among the women there that age. They haven’t achieved work status. Their kids no longer need them. Basically everyone looks over them without seeing them and they’re terrified of no longer being needed or seen so it makes them act out in ways that are really childish. I had one in her 50s who, upset that I don’t make chit chat, would purposely position herself to whisper loudly about me with others where I could see or hear. Being careful to look over her shoulder for my reaction. She was making a big show of getting up from our mutually shared desk and stomping off to do this like she’s teaching me a lesson. All bc she was angry I don’t chat during the day and wanted to put me in my place using middle schooler, mean girl tactics. Look dumb as hell, with her old ass doing that childish shit. She even would type things out, print it on our shared printer- a note and then make a big show of taking it to the office next to my desk and holding it up to the glass for her old friend inside to see and laughing loud. Then crumbling it up. They were legit passing notes about me. Fucking women in their 50s. They’re sooooo lame it’s incredible. And the attorneys don’t see it/ think they’re so respectable
