Older Men of Reddit, what’s something you notice younger guys do that worries you?

So although I agree on partially blaming the instant source of dopamine we get from scrolling through memes all day… I would like to add that ever since I started choosing my carbs and meals carefully and eating more non-soluble fibers, I became much more motivated. The midday sugar crashes were killing my desire to do anything, even get off my seat. Even pay attention in meetings.

Those sugary “breakfast bars” kept me dead until lunchtime. A big loaf of ciabatta for lunch was the recipe for unproductivity for a good 2 hours afterwards. Really I was most productive for the last hour or two before I went home for the day, and legit could not focus until then.

Happened in school for many years, then at work for a while until I got my eyes opened. I even started thinking I must have an attention deficit or something.

Exercising also keeps you from feeling tired once you get used to it, but changing the diet is a good first step I wish I’d taken sooner.
