Older student (M/25) worried about making friends.

Hey! I went back to school at 25 -- to actually become a paramedic. I'm in Canada so it's a bit more of a lucrative career with a higher barrier to entry, so I went to college for 2 years to become one.

Anyway, a lot of the people in my class were younger than me. It didn't impede my friend making abilities at all. Just be yourself and have some fun, the friend thing will work itself out.

I did have to put up with some grandpa jokes, and the running joke was that I was actually 45. Mind you, I have a beard and I went bald at 18 so I have a shaved head as well, so I look older than I am. Your mileage may vary.

Realistically you're just a few years older than these people anyway. You will find that you're more mature than them but that will help you with dating more than anything -- and you'll also be able to have a better approach to your studies than most of the young ones will.

Good luck! I'm glad I went back, and I had an awesome experience. Made some life long friends who are 5 or 6 years younger than me.
