Finals of the Joust


As the two finals jousters took their respective stages it was clear that this would be an event to remember. Garrick Swann of Stonehelm and shown himself to be an example of chivalry and a fine jouster, while Drulvik - they mysterious hedge knight from the Vale had shown an ability and willingness to do whatever it takes to earn prestige in the eyes of the realm. Over sixty other knights had been eliminated, leaving only Drulvik and Swann and as they prepared for the tilt the realm watched eagerly, wondering which of the knights would come out victorious.

Garrick Swann vs Drulvik. The first round saw Garrick break his lance upon Drulvik's breastplate, and the second saw the same outcome. Garrick earned himself an early lead as they came around for the third pass, which was a draw. In the fourth pass Garrick earned himself another point, perhaps inching his way to victory. However Drulvik would make his mark known in the sixth pass as his lance collided with Garrick's head, earning him two points and narrowing the score.

The seventh pass was the final one and the most important for it determined the victor. Garrick leaned to the left as he rode against Drulvik and his lance slipped upwards and knocked into the man's helm, snapping him back as the lance shattered about. With the hit Garrick earned two more points, giving him a final total of 5 to Drulvik's 2. With the fine hit to end it, Garrick Swann was the victor of the joust and the shouts of support were deafening.

Immediately people moved to go congratulate the knight from Stonehelm, their hands held wide and in excited fashion. Garrick rode around for a few moments in celebration, passing past the King's dias who looked at him curiously. Amongst all the shouts and cheers and the presentation of the victor's reward, Garrick was urged to selected his Queen of Love and Beauty, to formally put an end to today's jousting.

It had been an exciting days of broken lances and although only one man had emerged victorious, many had cemented their position in time and history.
