I haven’t seen any displays with burn-in from this part year as LG and Sony have gotten much better providing content for them without continuously repeating static white/red elements which were always what did it - the only risk would be if the store put their own demo loop on repeat from a flash drive or something (which is something a Sony rep would do but LG almost always sticks with the content from their server).

I will say that the few cases of burn-in I have seen (which in both cases were customers who said they just left the tv on a news channel for 12+ hours a day for months and months at max brightness) we have exchanged the TVs instead of repairing due to the cost and complexity of replacing the panel. This is awesome when a cpl years go by and you get a way newer tv for free. With open items you will likely get issued a store credit for what you paid instead of it being replaced with the same TV so if it immediately had burn in I wouldn’t count on it being fixed (probably just returned).
