[ON] Anyone else annoyed with 18% auto gratuity and that its based on post HST amount?

No tipping is what allows restaurant employers to get away with exploiting labor while profiting off subsidized wages from customers (Also see that this is a fact and not an opinion like yours).

This is not a fact. And it's pathetic that you'd accuse restaurant owners of exploiting labor, when what you're suggesting would inevitably lead to restaurant workers making less than a living wage.

You're the one who lives under a rock if you aren't aware that service in Europe generally sucks. And the idea that the situation is good for workers in Europe is ridiculous.

They're all dying to come work here, specifically because of the tipping system which allows restaurant employees to make a living wage. Because the money they make over there is abysmal, save for a few Michelin star restaurant.

And that's a fact. That I know. Because I've known plenty of European waiters who were absolutely thrilled to work here for tips. And I've heard the same thing from employees in Europe.

So don't fucking dare to pretend like you want to prevent owners from exploiting their employees, when you're asking to abolish the one thing that prevents it.

The vast, vast majority of waiters want to keep tips. Because they know otherwise the owners will end up paying the same as Walmart.

Fucking hypocrite. Disgusting.
