In reality, British and American strategic bombing killed hundreds of thousands of German and Japanese civilians, which, unlike Soviet atrocities against Germans, was completely disproportionate to anything Germany or Japan had done to them.

The simple fact was, the German war effort was not just one in which war crimes happened to occur, war crimes were embedded into the very war effort itself, which was a war of extermination. While both sides were ruthless dictatorships which committed serious war crimes, the crimes committed by Nazi Germany were qualitatively different in their nature and scale.
