On a post about a guy getting stabbed saving a woman from a stabbing maniac (and trying to save another.)

You want to know why this argument doesn't really work when you're talking about men?

This argument is a critique of a cultural hierarchy. The problem is chauvinism.

It's a Marxist argument. The end goal of the argument is to assert that all humans are equal, and the only way this can pragmatically be manifested is through an elimination of the class hierarchy. There's nothing that "society" as a whole can do to level the playing field. The only corrective measure that could be put in place would have to be put in place by the government. The only thing the government can really do is give people money and put people in prison.

Since you can't go and put people in prison based on what they're thinking, because it's impossible to prove, the only thing the government as it exists can do is give this guy money. In order to give this guy money, the government has to collect taxes. The amount of taxes to pay all the people in this guy's situation are going to be huge. It's going to be cheaper for the government, and less overall work, to just start buying shares of large companies.

If the government is buying shares of large companies, then the populous sort of controls the company. The population at large will be able to challenge things like how much CEOs get paid.

I can keep explaining how the only "logical" solution to the argument the guy is putting forth is communism. I mean, my personal politics aside, I just want to point out that this argument is a Marxist argument, and you can't really arbitrarily stop the argument. The argument is basically designed to end with "communism."

Something tells me that this guy is libertarian...
