On Skips

Sure, but even with a serial strip there are measures he could take to make it more engaging and less fluffy.

The cast has expanded dramatically since Book 1. This isn't Game of Thrones, and even in ASOIAF there we only a few POV characters. I'll give the example of Roger--I am thoroughly uninterested in his motives or "seeing through his eyes". His motives and methods can be revealed through exposition or discovery by the main characters. It's possible to write a compelling and complex antagonist without having text updates where you hear his internal dialogue.

At the moment the only antagonist I find compelling is Charlie, and even he has been significantly demystified through the text updates in a way that has been a pretty big let-down. I didn't really want to know how he does everything, the reveals and mystery were enough. Rob has shown way too much of the poker hand for all parties involved.

I want to see Parson defy expectations and outwit his opponents when all seems lost, I want to see what happens between Wanda and Jillian, and I want to see more of the main cast. The interactions between them were what made Book 1 great. The hick dirtamancers, the two new decrypted casters, and even Jed I just don't care about enough.

tl;dr the cast is too crowded and there isn't enough focus on the key players.
