On what birthday did you say "Damn I'm Old!?"

We don't usually celebrate my birthday but my sisters said we had to do so on my sixtieth, as it had been ten years since my last birthday party. We were having a grand time - my brother in law made dinner and he's a good cook. Then he and my baby sister went to get the cake.

They returned with a blazing inferno and set it down in front of me. I took a mighty breath and started blowing out the candles - all sixty-one of them. Smoke started billowing from the extinguished wicks. Then it happened. The smoke detector started wailing. My siblings, nieces, and nephews started hollering and clapping and laughing. My brother-in-law climbed up on a chair to kill the detector.

My brother-in-law informs me he singed his hand helping to light the blaze; my niece said "you're really old, aren't you". I looked at my sister and said she could have just used those numeric candles - you know, a "6" and a "0". Sure, she says, but that wouldn't have been nearly as funny.

TL;DR: on my 60th birthday
