On the whole bathroom issue

The thing is it doesn't have to be 'rape or murder'. It can simply be the kinds of 'accidental' touching that happens in public anyway.

Flashing, public masturbation, and certain assaults (such as upskirt shots, etc) are crimes people think they can often get away with in public.

In gender neutral toilets, there is technically an increased risk of these kinds of offenses being committed in toilets than in segregated toilets. It allows more opportunity for these acts to take place, and more deniability (in much the same way a guy can 'accidentally' push his crotch against somebody and deny an offence, having a guy furiously masturbating in a stall next door whilst engaging you in 'conversation' can also be plausibly denied) which could encourage these types of crimes.

I personally don't buy this argument against gender neutral toilets (loads of these assaults happen in tube carriages that are gender neutral, but the argument of segregation tends to be seen as dehumanizing women, and legitimizing the attacks they suffer), but the people who are committing these kinds of sexual assaults often have a very astute sense of what they can and can't get away with.

Assuming that the only sexual assaults to fear come from people with no sense of right and wrong is straw manning the argument. The issue is that people who commit such assaults often have a very astute sense of risk, and if gender neutral toilets decrease the risks of these kinds of assault, it may increase the likelihood of them occurring.

Again, though, it's worth pointing our that such assaults are committed in day to day life and in public. It's unlikely to be that people who want to commit these acts will simply not commit them because they can't do it in a toilet. They'll probably just try assaults in trains, queues or wherever else they think they can get away with it.
