'Once-in-a-decade' storm leaves 50,000 without power, triggers dust storms in Australia

I appreciate the sentiment, but we are all just people; the same as anywhere else. Aside from those things, we have weakness, fear and the temptation of just giving up, the same as anywhere else. For many here, it has been unimaginable.

After over two years of drought slowly sapping finances, the company I work with lost 4 million to a hail storm, 500,000+ to the fires and then, when almost all our dams were nothing but dried, cracked mud, the floods came. The same blokes who had been desperately fighting fires on their own because there were no trucks coming, watched their animals drown and their family farm get trashed.

No one gets through that for any other reason than "I had no choice".
