“So you think this guy should be denied treatment?” Honestly as shit as it is yes. Unless he is sedated so he cannot assault people or in restraints so that he cannot assault people then yes the only option is to deny him treatment. Or he can get private healthcare.

I recently took my dog to the vet he isn’t an aggressive dog at all but because he was in pain he was muzzled so he couldn’t attack the vet whilst the vet checked him over. Maybe we have to do the same thing to people who lash out at the people trying to help them. Though reading about how he was upset at the prisoner that was restrained during their treatment I wouldn’t be surprised if he would refuse treatment if he was to be restrained.

I agree with you that DHBs need more funding. Every government service needs more funding nothing is as good as it could be. And I do have sympathy for the guy as well it must be a terrible situation to be in I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I just think that the people who’s job it is to help him have a right to not be assaulted whilst doing their job, and if it’s between their right to that and his right to treatment they come first every time.
