One buyer just left multiple negative reviews without any communication. Completely blindsided me. I have asked what can I do besides return and refund. How can be people so inconsiderate?

I think you (by you I mean all of us) should not care much about negative reviews. We should acknowledge them and get them as feedback but there are really inconsiderate and bad people out there.

My process as a buyer is, I read the reviews and try to understand what is wrong. Most of the times it is obvious that the buyer has bad intentions. Rarely it is about the quality of the product. I also check how the shop is handling the bad review. If the shop is politely responding, I dont care about one or two bad reviews and purchase from the shop.

As a seller I try to do my best to resolve any conflicts in favor of the customer. But sometimes it is impossible to do so. For example one of my products went to the door of a customer and she needed to pay customs fees (this is clearly stated in my shop policies and listings) she refused to pay, wrote a bad review, also opened cases on Etsy and Paypal for a refund. I didnt gave her money back because my carrier invoiced me the customs fees and return shipment which in total put me on a loss for that transaction.

I explained the situation with airwaybills, copy of shop policies and our message history with the client, Paypal and Etsy agreed that I was not doing anything wrong. But that review stays there saying directly "Don't buy from this seller". I only sell 1 - 2 products/month and only have 30 reviews (all of them are 5 stars and genuine explaining how they are happy with the product and my shop and how I handle the problems.)

As of today it seems that hateful review haven't effected my sales.

Another customer just blackmailed me. Told me her package was lost. But on the tracking it clearly says that someone in the same address received the package. Anyway she asked for another item and threatened with a bad review. I politely explained her the situation reminded her to recheck the tracking code and provided her the airwaybill and asked her to check with the courier and refused to send a second product. Added that if she felt mislead or mistreated she has every right to write a comment or open cases against me and she wrote a hateful message and it ended there.

My point is we cant satisfy everyone and we should acknowledge that sometimes even both parties are good people we cant agree.
