An update in case anyone's curious:

Yes, sticking a pin inside your ear was real idiot move (or any object for that matter). Not that it matters much, but it was a hair pin with a dull end as opposed to a pointed end- but regardless..

Anyways, went to another doctor yesterday since I was worried I had blown out my ED. He took one look and just irrigated it, and lo-and behold, my hearing came back! Also a lot of foul smelling built up ear exploded out of my ear, which was quite disgusting.

Lesson learned- dont use q tips and dont stick things into the ear. Will continue the drops to sooth it out for the next while heal my ear canal for the next week or so, but really grateful for the second doc who flushed it like a champ.
