One level in Wizard?

I like flavor dips like this, even if it's not highly optimized. One level of Wizard can add a lot to most characters.

Problem here is that Monk is very level-dependant for its abilities. Also, you have another Wizard in the party. That means you'd see limited use from Ritual Casting. The main advantage, being able to copy his notes, doesn't help much when you'd only be preparing and casting Shield/Absorb Elements with your limited slots.

If you wanted some magical flavor, I'd probably suggest Magic Initiate (Wizard) instead. That gives you the Lightning Lure you wanted plus one other utility cantrip. If you want to be a crafting type, Mending is highly thematic. Message, Minor Illusion, and Prestidigitation are also highly recommended.

For your spell, you could still pick up your familiar. Alternatively, you could cast Absorb Elements 1x/day, rather than 3x with the Wizard level. Probably a better investment for the money.

If you wanted more than just that, a Sorcerer dip may be better than Wizard here. The internal magic can be flavored as another way your Ki is manifesting itself. Think of it as majoring in Kensei and minoring in Four Elements monk. You'd lose ritual casting, but would pick up additional cantrip slots and a subclass feature.
