I think one reason many of us are upset is that we expected D1's QoL changes to carry over, and now it feels like we are going to have to buy them all over again with DLC.

The game has been dumbed down beyond all recognition from D1. I played over 4,000 hours in D1 and was in the top 1% and I loved that game, would easily have it in my top 3 games of all time and I'm a gaming OG since the 90's.

I've been saying this for weeks that D2 has been dumbed down to appeal to the casuals as that's the way that Bungie will be able to make the most money, while at the same time the hardcore fanbase will still purchase the game and DLC out of loyalty simply because the game is called Destiny 2. I personally cannot see D2 having an overhaul to bring back more depth and grinding irt endgame activities and weapon and armour rolls that aren't static and / or pointless. Not to mention how bland the PvE is, this timed nightfall is pretty shit imo, how strikes have gone from being fun in D1 with modifiers and specific loot and strike streaks with scoring to basically 20 minutes of bullet sponges and having to find ammo for my two primary weapons (I hate having two primaries now, I still don't see why they did that apart from catering to PvP players but now the PvE feels weak and shit, go back and do a strike in D1 and tell me that I'm wrong on this), how the PvP isn't even better than D1 PvP (sure the casuals will say that D2 PvP is better but for most D1 players who had some level of skill then they will know how much better D1 PvP felt compared to this slow, boring 4v4 mess that was meant to be an upgrade on the 6v6 that so many of us were accustomed to, but it ain't) and the raid is the worst one out of all of the Destiny raids, it's the least memorable with the worst loot and design. The exotics in D2 are terrible (for the most part) the exotic quests that are too simple (the rat king isn't that difficult either), oh how I long for more exotic quests similar to the Sleeper quest, the NTTE, TTK Exotic sword quests, quests that don't take an hour at max to complete and require more than 'do a couple of easy missions and here you go, a Mida Multi Tool with HCR!' (Bungie, why the fuck did you bring back HCR on the Mida?) Also as a Hunter main I feel completely shafted by Bungie, the subclass options are fucking shit (where's my invisibility on the Arc blade and fucking blink gone?) not to mention them getting rid of the T12 system for this mobility resilience recovery system, which I guess is okay (again T12 was taken out and essentially dumbed down) but the fact that Hunters get mostly mobility armour and mobility hardly does anything is pretty annoying, the Titan and Warlock already get superior abilities in healing rift, barriers etc.

Anyway I made these points two weeks ago, in fact when the devs were saying about static rolls and stuff before release I could see how it would be a problem, then I completed the campaign on the first night of launch and I could already see massive flaws with the game during the first week while everyone was wetting themselves saying how great the game is, the story is decent but everything is is massively underwhelming unless you're a casual or a noob then I can see why D2 would appeal to you. I'm not sure what Bungie plan on doing once all of the causals go back to Call of Duty or whatever, but I am starting to believe that Bungie will drip feed us OG / hardcore players the things that we enjoyed in D1 via payed DLC in the future to offset the casuals leaving while Bungie continue to have a nice stream of $ coming in, so instead of us hardcore players chasing endgame grinding, we're chasing paid DLC to get what we already had in the first fucking game and I for one am not about to fall for that, not after all the money I've put into bungies pockets since 2001 (back when they were actually a good company, they've long since sold out).

Anyway, I uninstalled D2 last night and I didn't purchase the season pass and I won't be returning unless there's something in the future that allows me to grind for loot that hasn't been dumbed down to appeal to casuals (so weapons without static rolls and exotics that are actually good and not given out like candy because casuals cry that they are too hard to obtain, I'm not saying let's have the exotic drop rates go back to Y1 Destiny but at the moment exotics don't feel exotic or rare, in fact none of the loot does), imo Bungie are between a rock and a hard place in terms of game balance for the two different types of players in the Destiny universe, but they went for the safe option and for me at least, it's not worked. Thanks for the memories in Destiny 1, if I hadn't bought D2 digitally I would have traded it in already.

Also as it's been a running theme since my criticisms over the last 2.5 weeks, any casuals or snack daddy kids or noobs who want to talk shit to be based on my opinions, I will not indulge in arguments with yourself any longer. However any OG guardians who wish to further discuss this topic then I am always open to that. Yes I am an elitist, get over it.

TL;DR - D2 is bland and for casuals, Bungie will either sell us hardcore players what we already had and loved about D1 via payed DLC or they will continue as is with bland, shitty content and tell us that making friends is the real endgame.
