One thing I really hope for V9

As for Ruby's development... What development? Penny died. That's sad not development. There's nothing for Ruby to change or advance over it for them. The biggest development will be Winter

Thank you. It's refreshing to finally see someone else say this. A loved one dying in conflict with the villains of the show is almost never a catalyst for drastic personal development. Ruby wanted to stop Cinder before, now she will... what, want to stop her more?

In fact the only place this situation offers Ruby any chance to develop beyond just being really fucking bummed out about it is in how she interacts with Jaune about it and how the two of them come to terms with the necessity together. Without Jaune, she's just really down.

'The bad guys got my loved one killed' on its own changes nothing for Ruby; it's been her motivation from episode 1 to begin with.
