This to me comes down to the release of Pences letter. It was released by his Chief of Staff, while he was in chambers and while Trump was speaking at the rally. He’s now been denied access to the White House and the Storm crowd knew about the letter before they moved on the capital.

If they tied Pence Chief of Staff to the premature release of the letter, where Pence hadn’t even heard an objection, then that COS basically lit the powder on the keg.
