I really don’t know on this one, and it wouldn’t super surprise me if he ended up being the asexual one mentioned. There have been talks held at different times about planned or planted stories, which I kinda thought was bs for awhile until, sure enough, just a few days after hearing gossip that something had been “shored up” and would happen soon, he was in that whole “cheating” scandal. Have also heard other stories had been made up in the past (I believe one claim was that he had dated Baby Spice, which was arranged w/her team when she and him both had new work to promote, with his people working it into an interview again in 2018 after it had fallen relatively flat years before; had also heard the Janet Jackson fling thing was always made up to mutually benefit them, as they had music to promote together, it gave him a slightly edgier but still safe vibe and helped introduce him to an audience he wanted to tap and her the air of not being that old, still hot, etc.) and it wasn’t clear if those things had been done solely for the purpose of mutual promotion with similarly represented talent or to project a straight image. Unlike other celebs that are widely believed to be closeted, there is NO DIRT with regards to either one of them. But they reportedly do not act like they like each other unless or until they believe someone is watching, don’t speak much, actively do not know where the other one is at any given time, and overall seem to only come together for the very occasional staged photos or pap stroll. This is one of those ones that everyone talks about and everyone is hungry to catch them on. Which, along with aligning with the rumor mill when it happened, aided the thought that he would only have gotten caught if he wanted to be caught.
