One week of not buying anything at all! 7 things I chose not to buy this week.

I was anxious today, for the first time ever I decided not to spend money on myself during my birthday (I'm $1400 away from being debt free). That meant no new clothes or visit to the salon, no expensive lunch, etc. My boyfriend had plans for the night so I just waited to celebrate with him. Mi family is overseas and mom made comments about the things I wasn't doing/buying, she meant well but I felt shity. This sub remembered myself why I did it.

If you splurge every time an important date comes up or feel pressured and cave in when you don't have the means, you'll be happy one day but what about the rest? had a nice dinner, cake and felt loved and now I see I didn't needed the rest although was challenging to say no to myself

Delaying instant gratification is really helpful in the long run
