Unfortunately this is how games are in 2019 and I completely agree with you.

You know what the worst part is? We’re the minority. These days pretty much everyone has accepted cosmetic not-so-micro transactions as a necessary evil because “game cost too much to make and developers got to eat!” and “it’s just cosmetics!!!11!”.

This couldn’t be farther from the truth since the video game industry has grown like crazy and games (and consoles) are selling millions of copies.

Someone, somewhere, pays for these things and he’s happy to do so. These things work! That’s the sad part.

Recently over the destiny subreddit we were discussing about a reskinned raid armor inside the new expansion because “it’s expensive for bungie to come up with new designs!”. You know where new designs will be? Surprise surprise, inside the in-game store and in a battle-pass-like thing.

In the end you the only thing you can do is not to buy any “cosmetic” item or move away from the game. Vote with your wallet. Also, keep voicing your opinion against this!
