OnePlus walks back 'unified OS' plans, Oxygen OS is here to stay

I'll probably get a lot of hate for this, but I didn't mind the looks of color os. I prefer OOS, but I was hoping the color os would get faster security updates and android patches with the merge. Hopefully it's the same still?

I don't understand the mind set here. People get all pissy about software but why didn't they just buy a pixel to begin with? I'm guessing they don't offer it in their country but can't they import the phone or something? I feel like if all you care about is software then buying a pixel is the best choice.

I'm on the 8t and I got it heavily discounted. I can't seem to find a similar price phone for the features I'm getting. I was originally going to get the poco F3, but got the 8t instead.

At the end of the day. I want a phone that just works and is cheap whole still competing with higher end phones.
