ongoing drama update: r/ukpolitics mod team release a statement on recent developments

Worth bearing in mind before everyone gets sucked up in a tidal wave of transphobic kneejerkery that she was never accused of being a paedophile. Rather, she appoined her father her election agent, after he'd been charged with child sex offences. She was suspended from the Greens on a no-fault basis, and the post mortem criticized her for poor judgment, nothing else.

She was suspended from the Lib Dems after her husband's twitter account (not hers) posted some very questionable tweets fantasising about sex with kids.

At no point has she personally ever been accused of child sex offences. Rather two men in her life have done so. I'm not a fan of guilt by association, especially not when there's a clear transphobic hate mob attempting to fan these flames.

So, yes, I think the Reddit admins are overreacting, but in their defence I do think they believe they're trying to avoid Reddit's chuds taking to their pitchforks and starting an anti-trans pogrom.
