In 2006, I decided to do online dating. There were no quality women from my city on that site, so I had to widen my range a bit. I started talking to a Filipino girl named Madelyn. She seemed very nice, smart and attractive. She claimed to have a master’s degree in Child Psychology and was the salutatorian of her graduating high-school class in the Philippines. Which didn’t make sense because she was only 24 and had been living in the states for five years. We talked for a few weeks via yahoo IM and on the phone. She told me she moved to the states with her mom, who was a mail order bride. Also, she told me she hasn’t spoken to her biological father in years. While I was at work, she called and left a message on my phone saying she can’t talk for a while because she was having family problems. I didn’t think anything of it. Thinking she only meant a few days of not talking, I emailed her saying I will wait for her. Weeks later, I didn’t hear from her so I moved on. I went on a few dates with different girls but nothing became of them, so I tried a different site and saw Madelyn’s profile on it, only the name wasn’t Madelyn, it was Grace. I thought, oh well, I won’t ever talk to her again. Five months after I last talked to her she calls me. I was very shocked! We talked about what we’ve been doing over the past Five months. After I told her I went on a few dates with other girls, she immediately asked if she could visit me. I said, ok. She didn’t drive so she had to take the train to my city. That weekend, I went to the train station to get her. She was very pretty, better in person than in picture. When she got off the train she was talking on her phone. She didn’t put it down to say hello to me. Instead, she gave me her bag and continued talking, acting as though I was a taxi driver, loading up her luggage. She even got into my car without saying anything to me. The weirdest part was that I couldn’t hear anybody talking on the other end. She eventually hung up, so we then went to my house. We talked and had good conversation. She told me that a few months ago her father in the Philippines passed away. She then preceded to tell me that he was a rich man who owned a plantation. After passing, he left the plantation to her with all of his acquired wealth. “Why didn’t she tell me about this earlier” I thought. I asked her about the profile I saw of her using a different name. Looking shocked, she told me Grace is her middle name. Besides the suspicions everything went well that weekend, so we decided to meet again next weekend. I asked if I could visit her, but she insisted I didn’t. During that week, I received weird emails from somebody telling me she is friends with Madelyn, but doesn’t like her and wants me to leave Madelyn for her. I called Madelyn and told her about the girl, but she played it off like she didn’t know her. After I picked her up from the train station that weekend, she began telling me how she is being forced to marry some guy back in the Philippines. I questioned the hell out her about it. She told me the guy was already very rich but needs to marry her so he get the key to a vault owned by her dead father which contains a rare Jewel inside. By that point, I knew she was bullshitting me, but I wanted to proof to show her that I know. The next day she told me she received a text from him saying he knows where I live and that he is going to kill me and take her back to the Philippines. It was creepy because she looked dead serious and insisted she wasn’t lying. She even showed me the text. When she went to the bathroom, I took her phone and replied to the text telling the guy to leave her alone. Immediately, her phone starts ringing. It’s her Mom! Madalyn comes out of the bathroom in a hurry and answers it. It was obvious her mom was questioning her about the text and were she was. I realized then, She’s been lying to her whole family about were she’s been going the past few weeks. After she hung up, I managed to get it out of her that she was lying. I was very angry! I asked why she would lie like that. She said, “I did it out of revenge because you went on dates with other girls after you told me you would wait for me, it was you who lied to me!!!” I then told her to get out! The next week I received all kinds of creepy messages from her, including messages from her fabricated stalker. I told the phone company I was being threatened and had her blocked.
