My experience is anecdotal but I wanted to throw it in conversation.

My grandmother came illegally to the US from Mexico back in the 60s. She got sucked into fanatic Hispanic evangelical churches a long time ago. She’s very pro trump because her evangelical churches are telling them that Trump is putting prayer back in school so Jesus is using him as a conduit to bring Christianity back to the US. I said why would Jesus want this kind of guy representing him? They’re saying that God has a plan and that Trump is Christian and that’s all that matters.

This woman can’t speak English and came here illegally(she’s a citizen now) and has plenty stories about facing racism. But her fanatical Christian church is indoctrinating her to vote for Trump because JESUS. Just throw Jesus into the equation and it’s fine.
