People with privilege collectively have an obligation to help, but they don't individually have an obligation to help. I am not going to rush to the scene of a major fire and attempt to put it out myself. I am going to contribute my tax dollars to the funding of a professional fire department that will rush to the scene of all major fires to put out fires.

Change has to happen and people have to be willing to make it happen, but it needs to happen on an institutional level and not rely on it happening on a personal level because I personally am not even a little bit qualified to change someone else and it is ridiculous to suggest otherwise.
