The only thing I'm worried about when it comes to Absolver: "Feinting".

Feinting is a pure mindgame mechanic right now. It only serves to bait out a defensive move then punish the opponents misplay.

Whether or not that is good enough time will tell.

I will say chivalry. regardless of potentiall skill cap...is a crappy game and so fundamentally different then absolver as to be difficult to truly draw a 1 to 1 comparison. no, in fact id say it would be foolish to do so.

Id rather absolver take some que's from actual fighting games. Idea of risk vs reward. If the attack has manuever is a higher risk, it should yield higher reward...but what constitutes a high risk in a fighting game? a unsafe or highly punishable maneuver.

So in the end moves that are risky should give big rewards to the user if successfully used, but also offer big rewards to the enemy if they punish it. Then simply scale down the rewards for the safer/less risky maneuvers.

This makes me feel like some aspects are no tlining up in the rewards vs risks department. Namely with the classes specials/defensive options. As they have static rewards with contextual risks.
