As far as I remember, I had already gone through the intersection by the time the light turned red. There was very heavy traffic and it was an extremely busy intersection in my city. I didn’t stop for the yellow light because at that point I was already in the intersection and there was also a car in the lane beside me that proceeded through the red light. (However, the officer only gave me a ticket.) I was afraid that if I braked suddenly that the car behind me would not have enough time to brake and would have hit me as a result. I have a baby on board sticker on my car and believe that is why the officer pulled me over and not the person that also went through the yellow light at the same time as me.
