Ontario’s 3-year quest to fire woman over alleged theft of $2.99 protein bar fails

I work in retail and I'm curious what other people would do in my situation. A lady came in with a $350 softball bat and said she wasn't charged for it the previous day. I worked for a huge sporting goods store, not some local mom and pop.

I was a little conflicted, but I ended up charging her $125 for it.

Another situation was, a lady ordered shoes from our website. They never came, she never got a tracking number, or an email other than the confirmation. She called customer service and they couldn't find information on it either, even though they could see the order. So they refunded her. A week later the shoes showed up. She called customer service again and they said to take it to a local store. I told her to keep em.
