Onward on Rift is Legit!

How do you expect valve to add support to oculus SDK

Valve can add native OpenVR SDK (ViveVR SDK) support to the Rift on STEAM (give us Vive support that runs via STEAMVR, as this is exactly what Oculus wants to do w/ Oculus SDK on the Vive). Valve gives the SDK freely to publish games, not for implementing hardware (that would require a contract - see HTC and LG). Instead, they continue to use a wrapper as official support. And if it's a wrapper, then I'm going to call for native Oculus SDK support from the game devs.

Everything they need to add openvr support is freely available. Oculus have done absolutely nothing to enable the rift to play openvr games

And lets talk about OpenVR (or lets call it ViveVR), because it is a lie. Valve touted their SDK as a hardware agnostic software that devs could program for both the Vive/Rift and deliver the same experience. IMO, Valve created a SDK that purposely delivers a sub-par experience to anything that isn't part of the "Valve Ecosystem". Valve keep pushing the "wrapper" solution as a means to pressure Oculus to do the same for Oculus Home (ala Revive and thus a subpar experience as you know). However, Oculus wants to implement Oculus SDK on the Vive to deliver an equal experience to the Rift, but they are not allowed. (and this is probably viewed by Valve as a backdoor to get an increased audience for the Oculus SDK; because we both know the battle is of the storefronts)

And there are devs on STEAM who started w/ ViveVR (OpenVR) and later added native Oculus SDK support because they too understood ViveVR didn't deliver the same experience to the Rift. This is why Valve's OpenVR initiative is failing to be the sole standard and the growth of OpenXR is taking hold.

Now can Oculus have permission for the Vive? No? Then perhaps direct your annoyance to the golden child himself: GabeN the creator that can do no wrong.
