OOP's Mother refuses to give back OOP's 9-month old son

Yet I called the cops when a family member was having a manic episode and being violent.

Cops came, realized family member was going through mental distress. So they called an ambulance. Gradually talked family member into calming down and the extremely gently helped them over to sit on back or ambulance. Responders and a cop talked with them, while other cop sat with me and explained my loved one was likely going through some sort of episode, asked if it was ok to have them observed, etc.

They aren’t useless, like a lot of popular posts in this thread claim. I’ve dealt with horrible officers and even sued the Portland Police for harassment(and won, btw).

Yet, I’ve also had individual officers go above and beyond to make sure a 17 year old kid was safe, when - according to some popular posts - it wasn’t their job.
